Stift Klosterneuburg

Klosterneuburg monastery

On Vienna’s doorstep

Klosterneuburg Monastery was founded by St. Leopold III, a member of the noble, Babenberg family. It has been a center for faith and culture – as well as the producer of fine wines – for over 900 years. It was also the residence for both the Habsburg and Babenberg rulers. This political significance of the monastery is symbolized by the presence of the Archducal Coronet found in the monastery treasury, the sacred crown of the country.
